By opting for low-carbon or carbon-neutral building materials, among other steps, industrial companies and real estate players reduce their Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions and thus the carbon footprint of their end-products.

Low-Carbon Glass boasts a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to standard float glass. To produce Low-Carbon Glass, we took a holistic approach to every part of the manufacturing process in order to optimise CO2 emissions, not only before and during the production process itself, but up to and including delivery to the customer.

Since Low-Carbon Glass delivers the exact same aesthetics and quality, it can replace standard glass at any point in the project process – even after the design and specification phases.

Low-Carbon glass range

Low-Carbon glass is available as:

AGC-lowcarbonglass

Low-Carbon Glass’s recycled content is above 50%. This means a portion of raw materials is replaced by a high percentage of cullet.

Therefore AGC introduces its Recycle Glass service collecting flat glass wastes from industrial losses and from renovation or deconstruction projects to be recycled in flat glass production.

Low-Carbon Glass has a third-party verified EPD

Low-Carbon Glass features a reduced embodied carbon footprint of 5.5 kg CO2 eq/m² for 4 mm float glass. This represents a significant reduction compared to standard AGC float glass.

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, a holistic approach was applied across the entire value chain: the use of more than 50% recycled content, sustainably sourced raw materials, highly efficient melting furnaces with electro-boosting, renewable energy and optimised transport.
