With its high-quality satin finish, Matelux strikes a delicate balance between letting light in while preserving your privacy. AGC’s industrial acid-etching treatment of large sheets is subject to rigorous quality controls, ensuring uniformity and stability. Matelux’s uniform grain, wide range of colours (three clear and three coloured versions) and special options are highly prized by architects and designers.
The four special options at a glance:
- Matelux Light: clear, slightly acid-etched translucent float glass with soft touch feel.
- Matelux Double Sided: clear float glass acid-etched on both sides, ideal for doors.
- Matelux Anti-slip: featuring an etched pattern specially designed for floors and stairs.
- Matelux Stopsol Supersilver Clear: float glass which is acid-etched on one side and covered with Stopsol reflective coating on the other side. Ideal in combination with Stopsol Supersilver Clear in spandrels.
Matelux can be processed like regular float glass and its smooth satin appearance makes it the ideal material for adding visual impact to both interior and exterior spaces.

Glass can create a timeless atmosphere of sophistication and tranquility through elements such as glass table tops, wardrobes and shelving, making it possible to add depth and style to interior spaces.
Unlike vision glass, which is meant to be transparent, spandrel glass is opaque and is used to conceal the areas between floors and hide unsightly structural components. When used together, spandrels and vision glass give the appearance of an all-glass facade.
Windows not only let occupants enjoy natural daylight, solar protection and/or thermal insulation, they also provide enhanced safety and protection from surrounding noise. Contemporary glass technology offers a wealth of possibilities.
