The Grand Park Hotel in Rovinj, on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, is the country’s biggest hotel project of recent years. Not only does the stunning 5-star facility blend in perfectly with the slope on which it is built, but the architectural firm of 3LHD sought to take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings by specifying the use of oversized glass in the hotel’s conference room.

An expansive 15-metre-wide sheet of ipasol Ultraselect 62/29, covering 48m² and weighing more than 5,200 kg, gives the hotel’s demanding business guests an uninterrupted view of the island just across the water.

To avoid potential colour-matching problems, the architects played it safe and fitted the facade with 5,000 m² of AGC glass, giving the hotel an eye-pleasing exterior.

In addition to the windows overlooking the picturesque surroundings, renowned Milan-based interior designers Lissoni Associati selected AGC patterned glass to clad 7,000m² of the hotel’s interior.
