Heat-treated Glass - the glass for optimal resistance
Heat-treated glass is produced using a method of controlled heating and cooling that locks the surface of the glass in a state of compression. Thermally toughened glass is significantly stronger than annealed glass and provides greater resistance to thermal and mechanical stresses. Additionally, glass that is fully tempered glass is considered a safety glass and will meet the safety glazing requirements as defined by applicable codes or federal standards. Once glass is heat-treated, the glass cannot be cut, drilled or further processed.
